JGW+ has three strands of support. Our Learning Coaches will decide which level is right for you and then develop an individual learning plan specifically for you and your needs.

What Can You Learn with Jobs Growth Wales+?

Jobs Growth Wales+ at ACT offers flexible learning in subjects like:

You’ll also improve your maths, English, and digital literacy to boost your career options and have access to extra-curricular activities including community projects, employer visits and wellbeing-focused activities.

We will help you secure work placements where you can gain hands-on experience while you continue to gain the necessary training and learning.

Get Paid to Learn with Jobs Growth Wales+

Unlike traditional education, Jobs Growth Wales+ offers a training allowance. You can earn up to £42 per week on Engagement Strand and £60 per week on Advancement Strand, depending on your hours, all while gaining practical skills and nationally recognised qualifications that employers value.

All learners will also have access to a weekly lunch allowance, and eligible learners will receive support with travel costs.

Yes! Jobs Growth Wales+ is fully funded by the Welsh Government, which means there are no costs for you to take part. All training, support, and resources are provided free of charge, and you even receive a weekly allowance while you learn. Whether you’re gaining qualifications, work experience, or planning your next step, you won’t need to worry about tuition fees or hidden charges.

While a job isn’t guaranteed, the ultimate aim of Jobs Growth Wales+ is to help you move into employment, an apprenticeship, or further training. At ACT, we focus on building your skills, experience, and confidence, making you more employable and ready for the workplace. Many of our learners go on to secure long-term employment thanks to the support they receive during the programme.

Yes! There are no set term dates for Jobs Growth Wales+. It runs all year round, meaning you can apply whenever it suits you. Whether you’re ready to start straight away or need time to explore your options, the flexible nature of the programme ensures that you don’t miss out. You may be eligible for Jobs Growth Wales+ if you’re aged 16 to 19, live in Wales, and are not currently in full-time education, employment, or training. The programme is designed to support young people who need help gaining the skills and experience needed for work or further learning. If you’re unsure about your eligibility, our friendly team is here to help and guide you through the application process.

Jobs Growth Wales+ offers a wide range of recognised qualifications tailored to your interests and career goals. You can train in sectors such as digital skills, customer service, construction, health and social care, animal care and more. You’ll also work on core skills like English, maths, and digital literacy to boost your employability and confidence, helping you stand out to employers and take the next step in your career.

The length of the programme depends on your individual goals, learning pace, and chosen pathway. On average, most learners complete Jobs Growth Wales+ within 6 to 12 months. However, the programme is flexible and personalised, so it can be shorter or longer based on your needs. Your ACT advisor will work with you to create a plan that ensures the best outcomes.

ACT  offers ongoing support throughout your Jobs Growth Wales+ journey. You’ll benefit from one-to-one mentoring, a personalised learning plan, and guidance with things like CV writing, interview prep, and job searching as well as opportunities to take part in extra-curricular experiences. Our experienced staff are here to support your progress every step of the way – whether that’s in the classroom, in your work placement, or as you plan your next move.
