About this Apprenticeship
Newport Youth and Play Service offers a range of provisions for children and young people aged 5-25 and consists of a talented and enthusiastic team of professional youth and play workers who operate across the city. This set up consists of play and youth clubs, one to one and project work that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of children and young people in communities.
The Youth and Play Service promotes a strong connection between targeted and universal work that ensures there is a consistent offer of support to children and young people when they need it.

Apprenticeship: Apprenticeship Level 3 Playwork
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay: £24,309 per annum
Closing date: August 15th 2025

- Educated to GCSE Standard including Grades A*-C (or 4-8) in English and Maths
- Demonstrate ICT/Digital Experience
- No formal experience is required, but a sound and rationale understanding of the apprentice programme being offered will be required.
- Must be committed to the Apprentice Scheme and achievement of the full Apprenticeship qualification
- Good Communication & Listening Skills
- Good ICT/Digital and Literacy Skills
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Understand the need and apply principles of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Be able to deliver work in a professional and personable manner
- Be able to work flexibly around the demands of the service
- Be able to engage in all academic requirements and be an independent learner when required
- Commit to personal and professional developmen
