About the role
The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol creates training and study opportunities in Welsh by working with further education colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and employers. They inspire and encourage everyone to use their Welsh skills. The Coleg’s aim is to build a Welsh and bilingual education and training system that is open to all and to develop a bilingual workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to develop their professional skills while working and training with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. The individual will complete an 18 month Level 3 apprenticeship in Digital Marketing, gaining practical experience and a recognised qualification. Theyare looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who is keen to develop skills and experience in the communications, marketing and social media industry working in a leading organisation that operates entirely through the Welsh language.
All elements of the work – both orally and in writing – will be expected to be completed in Welsh.
Location: Carmarthen or Cardiff – hybrid working scheme
Hours: 18 months fixedterm contract, 28 hours a week
Pay: £13.45 per hour (£19, 583 per annum pro rata)
Apprenticeship: Level 3 Digital Marketing
Key Duties:
- Assist with the creation of social media communication campaigns to promote the Coleg’s projects and events.
- To contribute to the development of ideas and the creation of creative digital content for the Coleg’s diverse audiences on social media.
- Assist with the organisation of the Coleg’s corporate events.
- To contribute to the overall principles and objectives of the Coleg
Essential criteria
- Familiar with using various social media platforms for personal or professional purpose
- Ability to read and write in Welsh and English accurately and confidently
- Organised and willing to work to tight time limits
- Following instruction and guidance and the ability to work independently as required
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- The willingness to travel to different locations in Wales for some of the Coleg’s events
- You will need to have a suitable internet connection in order to work from home as part of the hybrid working approach
Desirable criteria
- GCSE level A*-C in Welsh Language, English Language and Maths or a recognised equivalent qualification
- Familiar with creating content on social media (videos and graphic design posts) for a personal or professional purpose
- Awareness of social media developments including popular trends
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with team members and other colleagues.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft 365 package and social media platforms
- Experience using video creation/editing software such as Canva, Capcut, Inshot, or similar programs.
- Information on the various work of the Coleg Cymraeg.
