It suits employees in SMEs managing multi-channel campaigns, and professionals in larger organisations or agencies seeking advanced digital marketing knowledge and practical competence.
To achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Digital Marketing, Development and Strategy qualification, learners must complete all mandatory units and select optional units. We will work with you to choose units that match your role and business needs. When you agree to undertake an Apprenticeship, you may be required to complete Essential Skills qualifications, depending on your previous qualifications, the Apprenticeship level you are completing and your own particular needs.
An assessor will meet with the candidate once a month for approximately two hours. In addition, they will be set approximately twelve hours’ worth of work to complete before their next meeting.
Knowledge skill development will be achieved through the attendance to five workshops that will take place on a rolling basis. CIM invigilated exams will be completed after attendance to each workshop.
Support will be given to each learner using interactive remote delivery tools (podcasts, videos and webinars), interactive workbooks, signposting to digital tools available and through one to one support from the assessment team.
Each learner will have a CIM Membership with a wealth of learning resource.
Learners are supported and encouraged throughout their qualification to reach their full potential in their chosen industry.

To start an Apprenticeship in Wales, you need to be:
- aged 16 or over (there is no upper age limit)
- living in Wales
- not in full-time education
- not accessing any other funding from the Welsh Government

If you’re looking to undertake an Apprenticeship qualification as a way of upskilling within your current role, you will also need to be:
- employed for a minimum of 16 hours
- supported by your employer to undertake the qualification
- committed to undertaking an average of 4-6 hours of study a month
- working in a role that is relevant to the qualification
- employed for at least 51% of your contracted hours in Wales
