We have specialist learning and well-being support to help you succeed with your training programme and career goals. Our dedicated team are available to offer advice and guidance throughout your training.
To help you reach your full potential, we have a wide variety of learning support available, such as:

- Access arrangements for exams and assessments
- Adjustment of Essential Skills level for eligible Apprentices
- Individualised timetables
- Communication support

We will work with you to identify how best to support you to succeed and gain independence. This might include a post enrolment assessment or access to the additional learning support listed above.
Technology is a great learning tool. We have a wide variety of software and applications to suit your learning style and needs. This includes dyslexia software, read and write software, mind mapping and screen reading software. We offer training and guidance on how to use the software to maximise your potential.
At ACT we understand that things in your life can change and this can sometimes make learning more difficult. We have a range of support available for you if this happens and you are struggling with personal, social and emotional issues. Support includes:
- Attendance and Wellbeing Officers
- Group well-being sessions
- Well-being topics within the curriculum
- Emotional support – staff available to listen and support
- Referral to other agencies providing personalised wellbeing support
- Referral to ACT’s counselling service
We have a team of highly skilled counsellors available to support you with a range of personal issues. For example it could help with situations like bereavement, family issues, relationships, abuse and trauma. We provide a safe and confidential space for you to discuss any concerns. The Counsellors are Members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and will maintain your confidentiality at all times.
Your safety and welfare is extremely important to us. We have a team of safeguarding officers who work across our sites and are available to support you. If you have any concerns about your own or someone else’s welfare please speak to a member of the team.
