About the role
The HR Apprentice will be responsible for
- You’ll learn a number of the processes that the People team guide managers and colleagues through.
- You’ll learn about our HR system and how to make updates to colleague information and details.
- You’ll support the team to ensure compliance with Right to Work and DBS checks.
- You may be required to gather information, data and documents relating to processes such as absence, disciplinary or grievance ensuring confidentiality.
- You’ll take notes at relevant meetings.
- Working alongside team members, you’ll contribute to People related projects.
- You’ll take part in work across all areas of the People function as required, to support your understanding and development
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full time. 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Apprenticeship: Level 3
Essential:
- A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths (A*-C)
- Good IT skills, including regular use of email, Microsoft Office (e.g. Word and Excel), and other digital tools, or the ability to quickly build confidence in these areas.
Desirable:
- Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
- Work respectfully and inclusively with people from different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively using a range of communication methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, seeking and offering support as required.
- Commitment to successfully completing the apprenticeship programme, including off the job learning and associated qualifications.
- A strong interest working in HR, with any related experience (e.g. through education, part-time work, volunteering, or personal projects).
- Welsh language skills, or a willingness to develop your Welsh language skills is desirable.
- This role involves travel across Hafod’s sites and services. While a driving licence is not essential, some locations may be difficult to access by public transport.
