About the role

The Communications Apprentice will be responsible for

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of internal and external communications campaigns.
  • Drafting engaging content for a range of channels, including intranet articles, newsletters, social media posts and website updates.
  • Supporting the planning, creation and scheduling of content across social media platforms and monitor engagement.
  • Helping manage and update website content.
  • Assisting with the creation of digital content, including graphics, videos and photography, using design tools and templates.
  • Ensuring communications materials are accurate and accessible, in line with brand guidelines.
  • Conducting research to support campaigns, projects and communication strategies.
  • Assisting with monitoring and reporting on communications performance using analytics and insights.

Location: Cardiff

Hours: Full time. 31-40 hours per week

Pay: National Minimum Wage

Apprenticeship: Level 3

Essential:

  • A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths (A*-C)
  • Good IT skills, including regular use of email, Microsoft Office (e.g. Word and Excel), and other digital tools, or the ability to quickly build confidence in these areas.

Desirable:

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a range of communication methods.
  • Work respectfully and inclusively with people from different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, seeking and offering support as required.
  • Commitment to successfully completing the apprenticeship programme, including off the job learning and associated qualifications.
