About this Apprenticeship

In this Business Administration Apprentice (Level 2) role you will learn to, work as part of a team to deliver a first-class service. You will develop transferable workplace knowledge, skills and e.g. general office administration skills, using word and excel, answering telephones, using IT, helping customers with their enquiries and developing excellent customer service skills.

Key Duties

  • Assisting with all aspects of correspondence coming into the Parks and Harbour Authority shared inboxes
  • Assisting with the public enquiries in person and over the telephone
  • Assisting with administration related to allotment tenancy applications/ terminations across our 28 allotment sites.
  • Assisting with booking enquiries in relation to Sailing Centre & Flat Holm Island
  • Assisting with Administrative/Reception Duties
  • Assisting with the processing of utility payments
  • Assisting with banking and reconciliation of payments and payments by card
  • Assisting with booking meetings and recording minutes
  • Assisting with Reception duties including receiving deliveries, greeting visitors, monitoring CCTV and access to from the Secure Port Area and Cardiff Barrage.

Essential Criteria

  • Has achieved, or is expected to achieve a minimum of: GCSE Grade G or above in Maths and English (and/or Welsh), or an equivalent qualification e.g. Essential Skills Wales Level 1 in Communication and Application of Number.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the work of the Council.
  • Can speak and write fluently in English and/or Welsh to speak to colleagues and customers, take messages or ask questions to gain understanding.
  • Able to use a computer and software applications, to any level, relevant to the role.
