Did you know that you can sign up for an Apprenticeship to develop your skills in your current role? Read on to hear from one of our Apprentices and find out!

An Apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme that enables you to learn on the job, achieve nationally-recognised qualifications, develop your skills, earn a wage and build a rewarding career.

Adele is a Customer Service Coordinator at DS Smith who is currently working towards her Level 3 Management Apprenticeship.

She shares her top three reasons why she chose to live, learn and earn with an Apprenticeship:

1. Career Progression

“The main reason I chose to do an Apprenticeship was to help with my career progression. I wanted to do something more hands on. I didn’t want to do an academic qualification. I wanted to do something that was relevant to my job and something that I could develop within my role and to build those foundations to move further on through the business or my career.”

2. Learn and Earn

“I prefer on the job learning at this stage in my life. I’m not against classroom learning, but this fits around my full-time job and I can see a relevance to what I’m doing and I can see where I can put the skills I’m learning into practice. My qualification is very flexible and everything is tailored around you.”

3. Personal Development

“The ACT Apprenticeship has given me the foundations to build my career within the company, but also outside of work it’s given me the confidence to take time aside to work on my personal development. I would definitely recommend an Apprenticeship with ACT to others.”
