About this Opportunity

As a Trainee Project Manager, you’ll gain practical experience across the project lifecycle, including programme and budget monitoring, reporting, stakeholder coordination, procurement, document control and site delivery. You’ll also spend time on project sites, building an understanding of how renewable energy projects are delivered safely and effectively in practice.

Alongside the role, you’ll complete the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship, combining structured learning with hands-on workplace experience. This is a development role designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience to progress towards a career in Project Management within the renewable energy sector.

Duties

  • Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination and delivery of renewable energy projects.
  • Assist in monitoring project programmes, milestones, budgets and project risks.
  • Produce reports, presentations and project documentation to support project delivery.
  • Attend project meetings, record actions and monitor progress against agreed timescales.
  • Help coordinate internal teams, contractors, consultants and other external stakeholders.
  • Support planning, procurement and commercial activities where appropriate.
  • Maintain project documentation and document control in line with company procedures.
  • Undertake site visits to build an understanding of project delivery, construction activities and operational requirements.
  • Support compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Complete all apprenticeship learning activities and apply your learning within the workplace.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Requirements

Strong organisation and communication skills, comfortable using Microsoft Office, proactive and willing to learn, able to build effective working relationships, logical problem solving, interest in renewable energy/project management and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; eligible for the Level 4 apprenticeship. A Levels, T Level, BTEC, HNC/HND or degree welcomed where funding/eligibility requirements are met.
