The 12-hour Adult Mental Health First Aid (Wales) course equips adults with the knowledge and skills to support friends, family members, and colleagues experiencing mental health challenges.

- Recognising signs and symptoms of common mental health problems.

- Mental health crises, including:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
- Non-suicidal self-injury.
- Panic attacks.
- Traumatic events.
- Severe psychotic states.
- Severe effects from alcohol or drug use.
- Aggressive behaviours.
- Providing initial help until professional support is available.
- Using the MHFA action plan to guide support.
The Adult Mental Health First Aid (Wales) course is based on internationally recognised MHFA Guidelines. Its curriculum is grounded in evidence-based practice, shaped by the expertise of mental health professionals, researchers, and individuals with lived experience.
