Welsh Training provider, ACT, has been named as a leader in people management practice globally, having been ranked 7th Best Gold Employer (with 250-4999 employees) at the annual Investors in People Awards.

The Awards celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People (IIP) accredited businesses and provide the opportunity to benchmark against high performing organisations globally.

Winners were announced at a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner at Old Billingsgate, London, on 23rd November 2017. This year the 12 award categories focused on the main elements of what it means to be an Investor in People, from Excellence in Leadership and Management, to Excellence in Social Responsibility, to Leader of the Year, Best Newcomer and Best Employer.

Those who ranked at this year’s ceremony represent the companies who have fully embraced the IIP mission to unlock organisational success by realising the potential of their people. They are truly outperforming and impressive companies who value employees as the core of their business.

Other employers in the Best Gold Employer (with 250-4999 employees) category included Vision Labs Ltd, Berneslai Homes Ltd, E.W. Beard Ltd t/a Bear, Markerstudy Ltd, Ribby Hall Village, Robinwood Activity Centres, SAP Hungary Kft, Springhill Care Group Ltd and St Luke’s Medical Centre Global City.

Commenting on the recent achievement, ACT’s Chief Executive Andrew Cooksley said: “We were thrilled to be awarded Gold IIP Status earlier this year, but it is a real privilege to be recently ranked 7th Best Gold Employer; a clear indication of the dedication and hard-work the team has invested in the business. As a company we are committed to investing in our staff and want to ensure that everyone feels valued, supported, empowered and happy, through all levels of the company.”

ACT was successfully awarded Gold Status against the IIP Standard in the summer, which put them in the top seven per cent of accredited organisations across the UK, demonstrating their commitment to high performance through good people management. However, reaching the UK’s top 10 IIP rankings is a huge accomplishment for ACT. They are among the select few employers across the globe that are at the pinnacle of organisational excellence and demonstrate a clear commitment to their people.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “This year’s Investors in People Awards were the biggest and best to date. It was fantastic to see so many worthy organisations nominated for outperforming in their sector, demonstrating great people management practice and a commitment to staff development. Congratulations to ACT for ranking 7th in the Best Gold Employer (with 250-4999 employees) category.”
