About this course
Our Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing will enable learners to launch and develop their careers as hairdressers, barbers, wigmakers, and salon managers.
This programme is aimed at candidates working in a hairdressing role in a professional salon. Learners will develop their skills and gain a qualification in the workplace.
Learners will be required to undertake four mandatory units and at least two optional units to complete the qualification:
Mandatory units:
- Provide hairdressing consultation services
- Creatively style and dress hair
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
- Creatively colour and lighten hair
When you agree to undertake an Apprenticeship, you may be required to complete Essential Skills qualifications, depending on your previous qualifications, the Apprenticeship level you are completing and your own particular needs.
The qualification will run over 14 months, depending on initial assessment results and learners will be required to attend The Salon at ACT once a month to participate in skills development workshops.
Upon enrolment, learners are allocated an industry experienced assessor. Throughout the qualification, the assessor will visit the learner at their workplace once a month in order to gather evidence of competence through planned observations.
Learners are supported and encouraged throughout their qualification to reach their full potential in their chosen industry.
